Job Summary:

We are excited to welcome a skilled Clinical Coding Analyst (CCA) to our remote team! In this important role, you will be responsible for reviewing inpatient charts prior to billing, identifying revenue opportunities, and addressing potential coding compliance risks. This position is perfect for detail-oriented individuals who have a strong grasp of ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines and a passion for delivering accurate healthcare coding.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily pre-bill chart reviews for assigned clients, sharing your findings within 24 hours.
Analyze electronic health records to uncover revenue opportunities and ensure compliance with coding guidelines, leveraging your clinical knowledge and industry best practices.
Collaborate with physicians to clarify documentation and facilitate accurate MS-DRG assignments.
Maintain thorough and accurate records in the MS-DRG database.
Prepare and communicate tailored recommendations to clients regarding potential reimbursement changes or updates.
Address client inquiries and manage rebills within 24 hours to ensure smooth communication and support.
Stay current on coding regulations and industry standards to enhance your expertise.
Qualifications:

AHIMA certification (CCS, CDIP) or ACDIS certification (CCDS) is required.
A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in acute inpatient hospital coding and/or auditing, preferably in a large tertiary hospital setting.
In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, paired with strong analytical skills.
Familiarity with electronic health records systems (e.g., Cerner, Meditech, Epic) and experience in remote work is essential.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
